Cabramatta Vineyards
Did you know?
That the soil condition around Cabramatta’s rivers ( and Orphan’s School Creek) is exceptionally suited to growing grapes. The alluvial deposits around the river flats ensure wines made from these grapes are concentrated and rich in flavour.
Unfortunately the frequent flooding of the rivers make this exercise a futile one. However, two notable locals were able to grow and even yield highly succesful vineyards for almost a century. Both were German migrants, Joseph Klein and Phillip Ettinger.
