  • Hi Anna. I’m Aimee. Thanks for making this wonderful blog, honestly it help me so much with my assignment that we have to put on an event by ourselves. My team decide to choose Vietnam is one of countries in this event, other countries is : Phillipine, Cambodia, Malaysia. We also want to fundraise for Project future, an organization help stop sex-trackficking in Asia. I really want to make people interest in our culture so I wanna find any community to help us with food, traditional clothes or dance. Would you mind to let me know If you know any community have interests in our event.
P.s: Do you know where can we find some ao dai in cabramatta too? Its very hard to find here.
    Thanks so much.

    • Hi Aimee,
      Which area are you from?
I found that the local council and library were VERY helpful. There are also a few Vietnamese associations which run festivals and events.
http://www.fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/default.asp?iSubCatID=81&iNavCatID=6 the council lists all events, Cheryl B (the town manager) is always up to something. She organised the last food festival and budhist cleansing. There are always vietnamese pageants happening.
http://cabracc.org.au/fmrc/links.htm the cabramatta youth team are very passionate and committed to the cabramatta community

I get ao dai’s from bridal shops where you can choose to buy them outright or hire (most of them are upstairs and found along john street), otherwise my friends will travel to Vietnam and get them made.

Let me know how you go, most people are quite happy to share their stories with you.
      Anna
